Recognized for Bold Minimalism and Elemental Beauty
NEW YORK (Jan. 29, 2016) – Michal Kadar, Founder and Creative Director of CADAR™, was presented the Fashion Group International 2016 Rising Star Award for Fine Jewelry yesterday at the 19th annual Rising Star Awards luncheon in New York. CADAR, which effortlessly captures light and celebrates movement, was noted for its unique and graceful marriage of bold minimalism and elemental beauty.
“Throughout my career, I have always maintained a fascination with the power and iconic nature of fine jewelry,” said Michal Kadar. “My collections are inspired by the immeasurable beauty of nature and the world that surrounds us. Through each piece I strive to capture fleeting moments and translate them into lasting physical form. I am honored to have been recognized by Fashion Group International and to be among such talented peers.”
The Rising Star Award celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments of emerging talents in the fashion and design industries. Each year Fashion Group International recognizes the innovation and creativity of entrepreneurs in the areas of fashion, jewelry, beauty and interior design by selecting one “Rising Star” from eight categories to receive the prestigious award. Launched in 1997, the awards reinforce Fashion Group International’s mission to promote and advance emerging talent in fashion and fashion-related industries.
Handcrafted in New York City, CADAR features a striking combination of 18-karat yellow gold and diamonds. The Collections represent a sensual dance between light and form, and are comprised of three Suites that, together, create an overarching narrative: CADAR I represents Light; CADAR II, Water; and CADAR III, Life, illustrated by a bloom and converging silhouettes from Suites I and II.
Michal Kadar is a New York resident to whom design is second nature. As a young girl, she spent countless hours by the sea collecting shells her artist-father used for his life-sized sculptures.
